Based upon his new publication Conal Grada will present a lecture titled 'Critical Listening'. This will outline an approach for flute students to improve their listening skills to the point where they can understand how a master flute-player achieves the musical impact they do.
As stated before, Conal Ó Gráda is without question one of the most influential flute players of his generation. From Baile Mhúirne, county Cork Conal has recorded two solo albums including Top of the Coom (1990) and Cnoc Buí (2008), and more recently teamed up with Benny McCarthy and Dave Sheridan to record The Raw Bar Collective
Giving a very interesting insight into the majestic world of the traditional Irish flute, Conal will be joined by Belfast flute player and Winter School teacher Harry Bradley.
